Closeup (size 1920 x 1080)

I finished most of this pic in May, but I overworked it, so I put it aside and picked it up now to ‘finish’. (Remember what Leonardo da Vinci said: “Art is never finished, only abandoned.”) Since I worked on this pic for so long and abandoning it hurts, I have some long-winded comments about it:

Inspiration naturally came from Samurai Warriors Chronicles; the MUST game for Sakon x Mitsunari shippers. They’re so wonderful together… I truly saw a tragic love story there!  All dialogue from the game can be read from my LJ: SPOILERS- here -SPOILERS.

The scene in this pic can be dream or reality; a reunion after Sekigahara. I of course want to believe that they are alive, so Sakon has his bullet wound scar. I had to make it stand out like that with an unusual shape, because at first it looked like another nipple. Sometimes changes must be made for the bigger picture’s sake! XD

Technique is my usual: most body parts and pieces of garment are painted on separate layers, I make the edges crisp and add a separate shadow layer below. This may add to the 3D effect. It’s not really my intention but it happens if I can’t abandon a pic before I get obsessed by it. This time I wanted sunny bright colors to give a happy reunion feel, my monitor is carefully calibrated but I can’t really imagine how horrible this will look on a laptop or non-calibrated PC. ^^”

It looks like I forgot the fabric brush… I drew the cloud, flowers and the dandelion fluff by hand and converted them into brushes.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles is a dream game for Sakon/Mitsunari shippers. TK decided to give up the awkward attempt to pimp SW3 Mitsunari to the man who historically loathed him (Kiyomasa) and hence in SWC we can concentrate on the good old epic *cough*canon*cough* SakonMitsu pairing. Their relationship was already lovey dovey in SW3 despite of the sad Kiyomasa plot line, but SWC made their love even more obvious. (Don’t worry, Kiyomasa isn’t left crying alone in a corner; Muneshige claimed him as his own. And Kiyo openly loves Nene. ;)

Alright… With shaky fangirl hands, trembling with fangasms I caught this piece of delicious dialogue on video from the tiny screen of Nintendo 3DS:

Hopeless starry-eyed fujoshi comments continue:

Nari is so in love that he can’t hold his own tongue… *_* He’s become more human (even humane) since SW2 – without losing his unique personality that makes him more complex and interesting than Hesus Ieyasu.

Ano… did this game have some other purpose than BL? Absolutely not! Hack & Slash has become just SLASH! That’s why the Eastern Army is goddamn boring with weeping Ieyasu gently killing everyone in the name of peace without once feeling up his Hanzo nor riding his Tadakatsu. Maybe they’ll do something about that in SW4…

My own humble evil opinion… Sakon goes jazz-swing, which was a disappointment because dammit, the man can sing but the song sucks! Why no pretty duet with Mitsunari? Nobunaga-Mitsuhide duet is beautiful, something like that would have been perfect for SakoNari. Kanetsugu whips his horse so hard and sings so high that he doesn’t sound like his usual booming self, but it’s a fun track.

I LOVE MITSUNARI’S SONG! *__* His delicious SW3 personality is there.

Inspired by a delicious fanfic again, these are actually quickies done within a few days of loitering around, but I can’t put these in the “junk” category because it would make me feel bad. I should rename that category…

Kitsune theme will continue for a bit, I love foxes and stories about fox spirits. Next pic will be Hakuouki again.

Orochi x Masamune Date Innuendo
Yamata no Orochi is a legendary maiden-devouring Japanese dragon with eight heads and eight tails. Why KOEI chose to give us a walking talking humanoid sex god and not a roaring, monstrous, giant dragon with eight heads and eight tails in Warriors Orochi franchise…. is a mystery to me. But I’m not complaining. >:)

In the games Masamune Date became Orochi’s loyal servant, and lucky for him, virgins are currency in the Oro world. That’s how he got to the top so fast and became Orochi’s right hand man. [Koei Wiki]

I never know what size people prefer but this is the full painting shrunk to 900px width:

I started this pic before I got Samurai Warriors 3 so I finished it a bit hastily tonight, the urge to play is too strong. ><

I chose Yukimura to be Tsugu's partner because in my opinion he's the only one who can spend a quiet moment with Kanetsugu and get a chance to kiss him when Tsugu is still silent. XD Other potential lovers Kenshin, Keiji, Masamune, Mitsunari and Sakon would all do this scene a bit differently.

*EDIT: Notes: Yes, that is Naoe crest. It's rarely seen in the games but once again I had to think what would be right, using the clan crest or Kanetsugu's "banner design" which is seen in his game costume. I think the crest is more proper. I also did paint him and Yukimura wearing a sarashi (that epic long cloth wrapped around the torso under the kimono) but I wanted more bare skin so I left them out. XD

I won’t post this on Y!Gallery because someone will definitely report Mitsunari as a woman… There’s no way to prove his manhood from this angle and I’m not happy about the “ban without a warning” policy of Y so I won’t even bother. Hopefully posting erotic art in communities will become fun some day, but I’m skeptical.
